Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: - Basic cardiac rhythm competency required; traveler must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.

Preferred Credentials: - Nephrology nursing certification preferred.

Special Requests: - RTO requests require manager approval.

Unit Details: - Patient population includes orthopedic and trauma cases such as fractures (femur, tib-fib, humerus, spinal, rib), head trauma/hemorrhage, osteomyelitis, post-op surgeries, and acute or chronic disease with common comorbidities including diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. - Expected clinical skills include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, titratable HR drips (not BP), central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, and telemetry interpretation. - Equipment and systems include Alaris pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors (Dynamap), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, PCA pain management, and suction machines. - Support includes CNAs for vital signs, glucose checks, baths, feeding, ambulation, turning, transport, and blood bank pickup; charge may have patients; phlebotomy is mostly lab collect with nurses drawing from CVLs; PICC team available; central telemetry unit; discharge nurses and resource team support. - Unit secretary on unit 7a-11p with housewide call secretary overnight; RT, hospitalist, and intensivist available 24/7.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a 6-week schedule. - No call. - Holiday expectations: work one shift for Thanksgiving Day or the day after, one shift for 12/24 or 12/25, and one shift for 12/31 or 1/1. - Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: - Float to all adult med surg/telemetry units in house.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification CNN
