Job description

Job Title: Night Stocker
Department: Crossings Convenience Store
Reports To: Store Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Status: Part-Time, Regular
Shift Assignment: Overnight Shift (Schedule Determined by Business Needs)
Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour DOE , plus applicable Night Shift Differential of $1.50 per hour.
Location: Crossings Convenience Store - Oakhurst, CA

JOB SUMMARY
The Night Stocker is responsible for receiving, stocking, organizing, and replenishing merchandise throughout the Crossings Convenience Store during overnight operations. This position ensures shelves, coolers, freezers, and displays are fully stocked, inventory is properly rotated, and the store is clean, organized, and prepared for customers each morning. The Night Stocker works independently during overnight hours and supports inventory management, deliveries, sanitation, and general store operations while maintaining a safe and customer-ready environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Receive, unload, inspect, and organize deliveries.
  • Stock shelves, coolers, freezers, and displays with merchandise.
  • Rotate inventory using first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices.
  • Remove expired, damaged, or discontinued products from inventory.
  • Face merchandise and maintain organized, attractive displays.
  • Maintain clean, orderly stockrooms and storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment.
  • Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment safely.
  • Perform general cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or damaged merchandise.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Assist customers with locating merchandise when needed.
  • Support cashiering or other store operations as business needs require.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and punctuality as scheduled. Due to the operational needs of a 24-hour convenience store, attendance and dependability are essential functions of this position.
  • Work in refrigerated environments, including exposure to cold temperatures (approximately 40 degrees Fahrenheit) for extended periods as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) months of retail, stocking, warehouse, grocery, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Basic math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous convenience store, grocery, retail, or warehouse experience.
  • Experience with inventory control and merchandising.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks or similar equipment.
  • Experience working overnight or graveyard shifts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks. The employee may work in refrigerated environments and must safely operate stocking equipment as required.

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.
INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.
