Description

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring EPIC experience, general OR and trauma experience, and an active MI RN license

Details
  • Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma Center
  • Primarily adult patient population
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day/evening rotating shift schedule (7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p) or straight evenings
  • Weekend call required in 8-hour blocks (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a)
  • Up to 4 weeknight calls and 2 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
  • No floating required
Requirements
  • Active MI RN license required in-hand at time of consideration (compact license not accepted)
  • BLS and CAC certifications required, obtained prior to start date
  • Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
  • General OR and Trauma experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions (allergy-free option available for those with allergies)
Additional Information
  • Provide surgical nursing care across multiple specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, plastics, bariatrics, trauma, and robotic-assisted procedures
  • Experience with robotic surgery systems (Da Vinci, Mako) and specialized equipment such as electrosurgical units and Hana Table may be utilized
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals accepted at the same pay rate
  • Candidates previously employed by the health system within the last 12 months are not eligible to apply
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 1-year separation
  • RTO must be requested at time of consideration, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the contract
  • Traveler pairs are not accepted for this position
