Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position on night shift, requiring 2-3 years of ER experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details
  • 13-week travel assignment in a 27-bed Emergency Department
  • Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • Patient ratios of 4-6:1
  • Staffed with 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics on nights, with additional coverage added during peak day shift hours
  • Typical procedures include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, psych patient care, and EMTALA transfers
  • No floating required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Weekend commitment of four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights) within a four-week scheduling period
Requirements
  • Active VA or compact RN license required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
  • ENPC, NRP, and NIH certifications preferred
  • 2-3 years of recent ER experience required
  • 2-3 completed travel assignments required
  • Experience in high acuity, fast-paced, high-volume ERs preferred
  • Experience with 5:1 patient ratios preferred
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a range of high-acuity conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, and psychiatric cases
  • Team environment described as relaxed, friendly, and collaborative
  • Scrub color required: navy blue or white
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • No local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers not eligible for this position due to travel assignment history requirement
