Job description

Trauma Surgeon
Position Overview
Seeking a Board Certified Trauma Surgeon with fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care for full-time locum coverage at a Level II Trauma Center. The provider will deliver comprehensive adult trauma care with dedicated trauma surgery coverage, emergency general surgery collaboration, and 24-hour Advanced Practice Provider support.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $4130 per 24 hours
Night Call: $1090/shift
Call Back: $370/hr
Schedule
Start Date: September 7, 2026
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Full-time coverage
7 10 shifts per month, including one weekend
12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM) with overnight call
Practice Setting
Acute Care Hospital
Level II Trauma Center
Inpatient Trauma Surgery
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient trauma surgery coverage
Evaluate and manage adult trauma patients
Perform trauma surgery procedures, including:
Abdominal trauma
Thoracic trauma
Orthopedic trauma
Vascular trauma
Neurosurgical trauma management
Participate in daytime coverage with overnight call
Collaborate with emergency general surgery and multidisciplinary teams
Practice Details
272-bed hospital
Adult patient population
Four trauma bays in the Emergency Department
Two surgeons on weekdays (Trauma and Emergency General Surgery)
One surgeon on weekends
24-hour APP coverage
Backup trauma surgeon available with a 15-minute response time
EMR
Cerner
Requirements
Board Certified in Trauma Surgery
Fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care
Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC Letter of Qualification
ATLS certification
DEA
Minimum 1 2 years of post-fellowship experience
Additional Information
Temporary privileges available with expedited credentialing (approximately 3 4 weeks).
Providers must complete credentialing paperwork promptly to meet the anticipated start date.
