Job description

Civil Engineer 

The Civil Engineer is a hybrid position that will support the project teams with varying degrees of direct project responsibilities while developing a baseline knowledge of the telecommunications site development process. Project work will focus on new site development of macro and small cell sites, the modification of existing telecommunications facilities, fiber optic networks, and other project types as required. Responsibilities will focus on the completion of design drawings while developing an understanding of client-specific telecommunications equipment and their usage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create engineering drawings using AutoCAD for telecommunications new site builds, modification projects, site upgrades, and fiber optic builds
  • Track assigned tasks and prioritize completion of tasks accordingly
  • Maintain NB+C CAD standards and templates
  • Learn telecommunications equipment and client-specific equipment and their usage
  • Learn conduit design from client-specific standards
  • Read and analyze existing blueprints, construction drawings, and plans
  • Routinely produce accurate drawings promptly and efficiently
  • Ability to complete CAD drawings independently in a timely manner
  • Learn construction methods best practices
  • Evaluate the design for constructability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred
  • 0 to 3 years' experience with the production of engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor
  • Ability to work autonomously without supervision required
  • Ability to review site documentation and gather the necessary information to complete the assignment
