About This Role

St. James' Preschool is looking for Assistant Teachers for our 2026-2027 school year. Our school year runs September-May.


The assistant teacher must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others. She/he supports the Lead Teacher with the implementation of the daily program and all in-school preparation of materials needed for the day's classroom activities.


What You'll Do
  • Assist the lead teacher with the implementation of the daily programs and all in-school preparation of materials needed for the day's classroom activities.
  • Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Attend our weekly chapel and music with the lead teacher and classroom students.
  • Is familiar with and follows all Preschool policies.
  • Attend at least two (2) continuing education workshops per school year.
  • Attend staff meetings, orientation, classroom visit and our music programs.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • Some early childhood education experience
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
