Job description

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting finished products to customers, picking up raw materials from vendors, and ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule.

This position offers consistent hours, home every weekend, late-model equipment, and competitive earnings averaging $100,000 annually. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial driver who values safety, professionalism, and customer service.

What You'll Do
  • Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all DOT, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Deliver finished products to customers and transport raw materials from vendors.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route vehicle inspections.
  • Complete required inspection reports, logs, and transportation documentation.
  • Load and unload freight using mechanical freight-handling equipment as needed.
  • Hook and unhook trailers, including converter dollies and trailer landing gear.
  • Perform trailer swaps and container exchanges, including connecting and disconnecting transfer hoses as required.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance, fueling, and cleanliness checks.
  • Verify shipping documents and ensure required paperwork accompanies every shipment.
  • Maintain accurate records to support DOT and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, dispatch, and internal teams regarding schedules and delivery requirements.
  • Report accidents, incidents, and equipment concerns promptly.
  • Participate in safety meetings, company meetings, and ongoing training initiatives.
Equipment & Schedule
  • Drive well-maintained 2019 Freightliner sleeper tractors with approximately 500,000 miles or less.
  • Trailer swap schedules are communicated by 1:00 PM for the following day.
  • Some trailer swaps may occur overnight while customer facilities are closed.
  • Full trailer pickups and drop-offs.
  • Typically up to two overnight trips per week.
  • Consistent work schedule and reliable hours.
  • Home every weekend.
QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent tractor-trailer driving experience.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to meet or exceed U.S. Department of Transportation medical requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overnight travel.
Preferred
  • Experience with trailer swaps, drop-and-hook operations, and manufacturing or industrial deliveries.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $28.00 per hour
  • Average annual earnings of approximately $100,000 plus
  • $40.00 per diem for overnight travel

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to safely enter and exit tractors, trailers, and loading areas.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating vehicle controls, securing loads, and handling equipment.
Work Environment

This position works in both driving and manufacturing environments and may be exposed to:

  • Dust, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Industrial equipment and moving machinery
  • Vehicle maintenance areas and loading docks
  • Required use of PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear when necessary
