Job description

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Leadership & Team Scale: 2+ years of formal people management or team leadership experience, with proven success managing offshore technical teams (specifically including teams in India) across multiple Agile/Scrum delivery pods.
  • Engineering Background: Must have a strong technical foundation as a former hands-on Software Developer, DevOps Engineer, or Technical Lead within the last 7 years. Pure project managers or non-technical scrum masters will not be considered.
  • Full-Stack Application Knowledge: Solid technical understanding of modern software development ecosystems, including backend (Java, .NET, Node.js) and frontend (React, Angular) frameworks.
  • DevOps & Infrastructure Familiarity: Strong foundational knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) to effectively guide technical teams and evaluate delivery metrics.
  • Delivery & Resource Management: Proven capability to drive operational stability, manage resource allocation across growing teams, and ensure technology solutions closely align with business objectives.

Job Summary
Manages a team that develops, implements, and/or supports technology solutions for a business function. Ensures the operational stability of technology systems and applications and that technology solutions meet the needs of the company.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Oversees technology development and support activities to ensure technology issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with governance and security processes.
  • Manages and tracks the progress of multiple technology efforts, including administration, work plans, resource planning and control, status reports, and budgeting.
  • Resolves problems by analyzing issues, recommending corrective actions, providing tactical direction, and reallocating associate resources where needed.
  • Communicates activity statuses with technology teams, peers, management, and end-users.
  • Provides management, coaching, and feedback to associates, including assessing performance and providing guidance and direction on work-related activities.
  • Reviews operational processes and implements changes when needed.
  • Works with leadership to align technology resources to appropriate projects and workstreams.
  • Builds relationship with key stakeholders and operational groups to identify and resolve business issues.

Nature and Scope
  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
