Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully pass a state background check.
  • Prior care-giving or healthcare experience is preferred, but not required; comprehensive training is provided for the right candidates.
  • Must possess a reliable personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and active auto insurance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to treat clients with the utmost dignity, patience, and respect.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Proven track record of punctuality, dependability, and ethical care standards.
  • Comfort working both independently in client homes and collaboratively with the administrative care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Companionship & Engagement: Build meaningful, supportive relationships with clients through conversation, shared activities, and personal hobbies.
  • Daily Living Assistance: Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Household Support: Plan and prepare nutritious meals, and assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Health & Wellness Monitoring: Observe, document, and report any changes in a client's physical condition, cognitive state, or behavior to the care team.
  • Professional Communication: Maintain accurate daily care notes and collaborate effectively with family members and agency supervisors.

Senior Helpers Lee's Summit was proud to join the system in 2005. Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.
Our team has grown to include 3 additional office staff and over 60 caregivers. We have been lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community over the years, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.
