Schedule: On-Call/Variable Schedule. Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays (as needed)

North State Security Group is seeking highly reliable, disciplined, and adaptable Flex Security Officers (Armed and Unarmed) to support operations across multiple client sites. Candidates must be willing to travel to various client sites in North Carolina. This position is ideal for individuals who are flexible, reliable, and capable of adapting quickly to new environments and assignments. This position is not suitable for individuals seeking predictable schedules, limited availability, or casual employment.

Position Overview:

Flex Officers are assigned to fill staffing gaps caused by call-outs, vacations, special events, and emergency coverage. Assignments may occur with short notice and may involve different sites, schedules, and operational events.

Candidates who are willing and able to (1) work days, nights, weekends, and holidays, (2) report to different locations as directed, (3) accept schedule changes without resistance, and (4) respond to coverage needs on short notice can expect full time hours.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Maintain professional security presence at all assigned sites
  • Enforce company and client policies with consistency and authority
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and client concerns appropriately
  • Complete all reports and documentation accurately and promptly
  • Represent the company with professionalism and exceptional customer service
  • Maintain readiness for immediate deployment when contacted
  • Uphold uniform standards, grooming policies, and professional demeanor at all times
  • Travel to multiple client sites as directed
  • Armed Flex Officers - Additional Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years or older in age
  • Must possess a valid NC PPSB Armed Security license
  • Must qualify for and remain current with all firearms training standards
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment, restraint, and command presence
  • Must meet all weapons handling and useofforce policy requirements
  • Required Qualifications (All Flex Officers):
  • Prior security, military, law enforcement, or comparable experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Absolute reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong situational awareness and decisionmaking skills
  • Professional appearance and authoritative demeanor
  • Ability to pass all background checks and hiring requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
  • Availability Expectations:
  • Flex Officers must maintain broad availability. This includes:
  • Weekends and holidays
  • Overnight and extended shifts
  • Emergency coverage
  • Shortnotice assignments
