We are looking to hire a Customer Business Manager II on the Geo West managing Associated Grocers, Raley's, and UNFI Independents in Nor Cal.    This position is a home office field position that is based in Nor Cal, Arizona, or Utah or within a 1 hour plane flight.

 POSITION OVERVIEW

The Customer Business Manager II is responsible for the achievement of volume objectives, budgets, and planning in the Geo West (Associated Grocers, Raley's, and UNFI Independents) of the US. Retail execution and customer collaboration are key responsibilities vital to the success of this position as well as broker management and account intimacy. This position reports to a Sales Director.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and delivering customer plans to achieve volume objectives and primary day-to-day selling interface at customer HQ
  • Manage direct account sales of McCormick product offerings, policies and procedures, score-carding, annual planning reviews, determine pricing, forecast & distribution for existing brands and new products
  • Sell-in of retail controllables with customer (mix, promotion, shelf, display) and manage deal negotiations
  • Determine appropriate product mix and gain subsequent distribution
  • Manage trade spend promotion system
  • Overnight travel required to key markets/accounts as needed to support the business (25%)

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6 years Sales, Marketing, or related experience with a minimum of 4 years’ experience successfully directly managing a customer. Broker management experience a plus.
  • Strong computer and analytical skills required
  • Expert knowledge of procedures & concepts within Sales function and basic knowledge in other areas, such as sales operations, supply chain, and marketing
  • Understands how Sales integrates with other internal commercialization areas -- marketing, supply chain, finance
  • Awareness of store conditions and current & best practices within area
  • Evaluates complex situations using multiple sources of information
  • Ability to make data-driven, insightful decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as analytical, problem solving, communication & organization skills
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and leadership skills
  • Strong computer and analytical skills 
  • Understanding of CPG industry sector and competitive landscape
  • Knowledge of syndicated data
  • Valid driver’s license

Base Salary: $121,900 - $219,410

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan. In addition to a competitive compensation package, permanent employees of McCormick are eligible for our extensive Total Rewards programs that include:
