EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROGRAM:

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

This position is considered safety/security sensitive. Employment is contingent upon successful passing of the background investigation and pre-employment screening requirements, which include the following:

  • Character and fitness investigation to include but not limited to, fingerprinting and a criminal history records check through the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) and the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) database.
  • Psychological evaluation that meets standards provided in Section H of Code 5-303.
  • Drug testing for illegal substances pursuant to Code 5-303 and HR Policy 6.07 Alcohol and Drug-free Workplace Policy.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the management of security services for the Arizona Supreme Court, which includes security detail and transportation involving Justices and other members of the Court, supervision of security personnel, and providing security services, such as conducting investigations, filling in for security personnel, or assisting with a potential threatening situation. This position also develops, implements, and updates security, emergency, and fire protection plans, as well as ensures coordination with law enforcement entities and emergency personnel as needed. The Security Manager coordinates State Courts Building computerized access and security system needs with IT’s Infrastructure Operations Unit. Services provided by this position cover the Arizona State Courts Building, as well as satellite facilities in Phoenix and Tucson.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program qualified employer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will have law enforcement or security training and experience equivalent to a four-year degree and five years’ experience in a related field such as law enforcement, military police, asset protection, and personal security as well as two years of supervisory or managerial experience. Additional requirements include: a valid driver's license with no major citations in the recent past; the ability to conduct confidential or sensitive assignments; demonstrated expertise in effectively supervising personnel; excellent interpersonal communication, written communication, and customer service skills; demonstrated knowledge of industry standards for security procedures and practices; demonstrated knowledge of security devices and ability to operate metal detectors, X-ray machines; skill in the use of firearms and defensive tactics, and the ability to travel out of town and overnight.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Only applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to interview. The Selection Process may include computer testing (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook, proofreading, typing, etc.) and first and/or second-round panel interviews. This is a regular, full-time, exempt position.
