Role: AS400 Administrator
Mode: Remote
Overview:
The Automated Site Recovery Manager (AS400) is responsible for ensuring the continuity and resilience of critical AS400 systems. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining automated disaster recovery strategies to minimize business disruptions in the event of system failures or outages.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement automated disaster recovery plans: Create comprehensive automated disaster recovery plans for AS400 systems, including data centers, applications, and networks.
  • Configure and manage automated recovery tools: Implement and manage automated recovery tools, such as IBM's Recovery Manager for i (RMF) or third-party solutions, to streamline recovery processes.
  • Test and validate recovery plans: Conduct regular tests and drills to validate the effectiveness of automated recovery plans and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage backup and recovery processes: Oversee the backup and recovery of critical AS400 data and systems, ensuring that backups are accurate, timely, and recoverable.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices: Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the field of AS400 disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Provide training and support: Educate and train staff on automated recovery procedures and provide ongoing support.

Certification
  • Certifications in AS400 administration or disaster recovery (e.g., IBM i Certified Administrator, IBM i Certified Specialist - Business Continuity).
  • Experience with cloud-based disaster recovery solutions for AS400 systems.
