Overnight React Js Developer information

What is an overnight React JS developer?

Overnight React JS Developers are software engineers who specialize in building user interfaces using the React JavaScript library and work night shifts or outside typical business hours. These developers are often employed by companies that require 24/7 development coverage, support for global teams, or rapid project turnaround. They are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with remote teams during overnight hours. This role can be ideal for those who prefer or require non-traditional working schedules while leveraging their React expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an overnight React JS developer?

To thrive as an Overnight React JS Developer, you need a strong grasp of JavaScript, React.js, front-end development principles, and typically a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, RESTful APIs, and build tools such as Webpack or Babel is commonly required. Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective remote communication are essential soft skills, especially for overnight and independent work. These abilities ensure efficient code delivery, seamless collaboration across time zones, and high-quality, maintainable applications.

What are some unique challenges faced by overnight React JS developers, and how can they effectively collaborate with daytime teams?

Overnight React JS Developers often work with limited real-time access to daytime team members, which can present challenges in communication and quick problem resolution. To collaborate effectively, it's important to maintain thorough documentation, leave detailed updates in project management tools, and proactively communicate progress or blockers. Utilizing asynchronous communication platforms and participating in scheduled overlap meetings (when possible) can help bridge gaps. This workflow ensures continuity and smooth handoffs across different shifts, leading to successful project outcomes.

What is the difference between Overnight React Js Developer vs Front End Developer?

AspectOvernight React Js DeveloperFront End Developer
Required SkillsProficiency in React.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and experience with asynchronous programmingProficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue
Work EnvironmentTypically remote or night shift roles, often in tech companies or agenciesUsually daytime, office or remote roles across various industries
Industry UsageCommon in tech, startups, and agencies needing 24/7 development coverageWidely used across all industries requiring web development

While both roles require strong front-end skills, the Overnight React Js Developer specializes in React.js and works primarily during night shifts or remote hours, often in roles demanding 24/7 coverage. The Front End Developer has a broader skill set across multiple frameworks and typically works during standard daytime hours. The choice depends on your preferred work schedule and specific technical expertise.

Job description

Preferably in the Central European Time Zone

Overview

At Leadership Circle, we are reimagining how leadership grows from one-time events to personalized, continuous, human-centered experiences.

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team supporting Project Center and LeadHub while helping us evolve toward our next-generation platform.

This role requires working across the full stack including backend services, APIs, and frontend user experiences, beginning with maintaining existing systems built on Ruby on Rails and Next.js and transitioning into building on a new platform using Next.js, NestJS, and Aurora PostgreSQL.

A core expectation of this role is the active and effective use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code. Success in this role will require embracing AI as a fundamental part of the development process to accelerate learning, improve code quality, and increase delivery velocity.

Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain full stack features across our current platform including Ruby on Rails backend services and Next.js and React frontend applications

· Support and troubleshoot production issues across Project Center and LeadHub including participation in on-call rotations

· Collaborate with teammates to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability across both frontend and backend systems

· Contribute to platform transition efforts by migrating and re-imagining features across the full stack in the new architecture, improving service design, and ensuring data integrity

· Build new full stack features on the next-generation platform using Next.js for the frontend, NestJS for the API layer, and Aurora PostgreSQL for the database

· Build and consume RESTful APIs and support integrations with internal and external systems

· Work with PostgreSQL databases including writing queries, optimizing performance, and supporting schema evolution

· Collaborate with AWS services such as S3, Lambda and SQS for storage and asynchronous processing

· Implement and maintain authentication flows using Auth0 and OAuth standards

· Write automated tests such as RSpec and Jest and maintain code quality through thoughtful code reviews

· Actively use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code as a core part of daily development including code generation, refactoring, debugging, and system comprehension

· Continuously improve how AI tools are used within the team to increase development speed, reduce friction, and improve overall engineering effectiveness

· Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and fellow engineers by communicating proactively, sharing context, and contributing to team discussions

Requirements

· 2 to 5 years of software engineering experience with full stack development responsibilities

· Experience with Ruby on Rails preferably Rails 6 or higher

· Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript with React or Next.js

· Experience building and maintaining both frontend and backend systems

· Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases

· Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation

· Comfort working across both existing systems and newer architectures

· Ability to balance short-term maintenance needs with long-term platform evolution

· Experience with Git workflows and collaborative development practices

· Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset with a willingness to ask questions when stuck, share context proactively, and believe the best solutions come from collaboration

· Comfort giving and receiving feedback in code reviews and team discussions

· Demonstrated experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT as a regular part of the development workflow

· Strong ability to evaluate, validate, and improve AI-generated code to ensure production-quality outcomes

· Mindset that embraces AI as a force multiplier for engineering productivity and continuous learning

Bonus

· Experience with NestJS or similar Node.js backend frameworks

· Experience participating in system migrations or platform transitions

· Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, SQS, and RDS or Aurora as well as Auth0, OAuth, Docker, or background job systems

· Experience helping teams adopt AI-assisted development practices
