The Roadway Technician is responsible for asphalt testing and quality control to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Work is performed with minimal supervision, following established procedures, with occasional checks during progress and review upon completion. This role requires good judgment, attention to detail, and adherence to safety practices at all times.
Typical work hours: 8–14 hours per day, Monday through Friday (day or night shift).
Weekend work may be required depending on contract schedules.
Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%).

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Certificates, Licenses, & RegistrationsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and correspondence in English.
Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively one-on-one or in small groups.
Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates/ratios/percentages, and interpret graphs.
Strong problem-solving and common-sense decision-making skills.
Intermediate computer skills: email, recordkeeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple assignments, and work in fast-paced environments.
