Field Foreman – Construction and Contracting Division

TTI Environmental, Inc. is an integrated environmental services contractor and consulting firm serving government, industrial, commercial, academic, financial, and private clients nationwide. Headquartered in Moorestown, New Jersey, TTI provides turnkey environmental construction, mechanical installation, remediation, and compliance solutions.


TTI is seeking a qualified Field Foreman to support our Construction and Contracting Division. This position is field-based and requires travel to project sites throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction, mechanical installation, utility, environmental, industrial, or process system projects involving piping systems, equipment installation, excavation, concrete work, and field operations.


Position Overview

The Field Foreman is a hands-on leadership position responsible for actively participating in field operations while directing and coordinating crew members. This is not a purely administrative role. The selected candidate will work alongside field personnel performing excavation, piping installation, equipment setting, concrete placement, mechanical assembly, and related construction activities while maintaining responsibility for site safety, quality, and production.


Strong mechanical aptitude, leadership ability, and the ability to both supervise and perform physical field work are essential. Overnight regional travel (Monday–Friday) approximately 50–60% annually is required.


Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in daily field construction activities including excavation, trenching, piping installation, equipment setting, demolition, concrete work, and mechanical installation
  • Lead by example by working alongside crew members to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to project schedules
  • Supervise, direct, and mentor field personnel and subcontractors
  • Interpret project specifications, drawings, and technical plans to effectively execute project scope
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors as required
  • Ensure strict compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Maintain daily field reports, time tracking, and project documentation
  • Manage site logistics, equipment utilization, and material coordination
  • Identify and communicate field changes, unforeseen conditions, and potential cost impacts

Experience & Technical Skills

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant field construction or mechanical installation experience is required. Experience in the following areas is strongly preferred:

  • Mechanical, utility, industrial, environmental, or process piping systems
  • Metallic and non-metallic piping installation
  • Storage tank system and equipment installation
  • Pump, valve, and mechanical system installation
  • Excavation and trench protection systems
  • Heavy equipment operation
  • Concrete and masonry construction
  • Industrial, commercial, or utility construction
  • Environmental remediation and earthwork
  • General construction and field maintenance practices

Additional Qualifications

  • Exceptional commitment to safety and quality
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Construction, utility, environmental, or mechanical trade certifications preferred
  • Experience reading construction drawings and specifications preferred

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; college degree or trade school education preferred
  • Overnight regional travel (Monday–Friday) approximately 50–60% annually
  • Ability to travel and work at remote project sites
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to perform daily physical field work and manual labor
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening and physical
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
