Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on, and service-focused Overnight Cook to support overnight culinary operations and ensure consistent, high-quality food preparation throughout the night. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is committed to maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and service during overnight operations.

The Overnight Cook prepares menu items according to established recipes and culinary standards, completes overnight prep and production, maintains food levels for overnight and early-morning service, and ensures a clean, organized, and properly stocked kitchen. This role follows all food safety and sanitation standards, works independently, and collaborates with the culinary team to support smooth operations and consistently high-quality food and service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute menu items with precision, consistency, and attention to presentation for overnight and early-morning service.
  • Complete overnight mise en place and ensure the assigned station is fully stocked and service-ready.
  • Maintain proper cooking techniques, portioning, seasoning, temperatures, and plating standards.
  • Work independently and efficiently while maintaining quality, accuracy, and consistency throughout the overnight shift.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout the shift.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen team members to support smooth overnight operations and morning handoff.
  • Monitor product quality, rotate inventory, minimize waste, and maintain proper par levels.
  • Promptly report equipment issues, product shortages, and quality concerns to management.
  • Ensure the kitchen is properly stocked, organized, and prepared for the next day's operations.
  • Support teammates and contribute to a professional, collaborative, and high-performing kitchen.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, culinary discipline, and commitment to elevated culinary standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience within luxury hotels, resorts, or upscale restaurant preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Cook in a hotel, restaurant, resort, or comparable culinary environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation standards.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and health regulations.
  • Food Handler Certification and/or ServSafe certification required or obtained within an established timeframe.
  • Ability to follow recipes, maintain consistency, and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Shift: Nights, Overnights
  • Regular Schedule: Friday–Sunday (subject to change)

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $23.00 - $25.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
