The Control System Engineer is responsible for multiple aspects of the design, development, installation, start-up and service of the various equipment control systems offered by the Cogent Family of companies. Serving the Industrial, Power & Energy, Manufacturing, Commercial, Water and Wastewater Industries Cogent Companies offer numerous systems integration opportunities.
This position will work in various regions around the state; mainly from the Denver metropolitan area, therefore we are open to accepting applications from surrounding areas as well.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • System design and development
  • PLC / HMI / MMI Control System Programming
  • Development of SCADA Systems and Communications Networks
  • Develop Web Based Interface and Historian Applications
  • Instrumentation and Process Control Design and Integration
  • Electrical, Motor Controls and Variable Frequency Drives
  • Custom Control Panel Design
  • System Testing, Commissioning, Start Up and Operator Training
  • Project Management
  • Prepare System Specifications
  • Technical Sales Assistance & Scope of Supply Development

Skills & Requirements
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Technical Degree with equivalent experience
  • Strong Computer Science & Technology Skills
  • Strong Knowledge and Experience in:
    • PLC / HMI / MMI Programming
    • Data Logging, Database and Historian Technologies
    • Industrial Networking and Communications Protocols
