Job description

Autos Cashier

This role works as part of a retail sales team to provide best in class customer care. This retail sales position can work their way up through Parts Specialist and eventually a Retail Sales Lead through gaining strong product knowledge, demonstrating a solid work ethic, and maintaining positive performance evaluations. This is a retail sales position that requires a "proactive" selling spirit and the ability to work as a team and individually to meet the store's sales goals. The Autos Cashier will be present during all peak customer traffic periods which could include weekends, sale days, or any other occasion that would generate high customer flow into the store per the specified store schedule. The Autos Cashier will promote sales and service to customers. The Autos Cashier is expected to maintain the excellent standards of all Pick-n-Pull policies and procedures, while always being pleasant, respectful, and helpful.

Work safely at all times and promote the Pick-n-Pull Safety Culture. Adhere to all safety requirements, maintain a safety-minded approach, and collaborate with your safety buddy. Wear assigned PPE correctly and consistently whenever it's required. Work collaboratively with your team to drive individual and shared goals and deliver desired results. Welcome customers promptly as they enter the store and proactively engage with them to ensure they receive the assistance they need. Complete sales training and apply the Pick-n-Pull 5 Step Sales Model, while continuing to build your skills through ongoing training across all areas of the business. Consistently follow all loss prevention, risk management, quality assurance and cash-handling guidelines. Identify when a customer situation needs leadership support and loop in a manager right away. Support store operations by completing housekeeping, janitorial, and other assigned duties. This may include cleaning tires, carrying batteries, mopping floors, and similar tasks. Uphold integrity in every interaction and transaction. Follow all company policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Autos Cashier works in both indoor and outdoor environments within an auto salvage yard setting, with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, automotive fluids, and noise from machinery and customer activity. A variable schedule including weekends, holidays, and peak sale days is required, along with adherence to safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Customer service experience, or the ability and aptitude to perform effectively in customer-facing roles. Able to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime and at any nearby store location assigned by management. Able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Experience handling customer payments across multiple payment methods. Fluency in Spanish. Familiarity with automotive parts and the ability to recognize automotive parts and understand basic product details.

This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 40 pounds to perform customer care, product relocation, and facility maintenance functions. Manual dexterity is essential for handling tools, performing housekeeping duties such as mopping and sweeping, and completing assigned Task List responsibilities. Sufficient vision and the ability to remain on your feet for the entire work shift are necessary to perform all job functions safely and effectively.
