Job description

Job Role: PeopleSoft Techno Functional Consultant
Work Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)
Long Term Contract
 
Scope and Description:
  • Develop, test, implement and support batch interfaces and related PeopleSoft application engines.
  • Provide coverage and support to batch/Interface operations, mission critical automation for the Enterprise resource planning System with experience in Managed File Transfer and batch scheduling software tools.
  • Research production batch failure issues, interface and integration problems, collaborate with other functional teams, perform root cause analysis, and routinely apply solutions and problem-solving skills to fix application defects.
  • Provide support to Department onboarding, testing, scheduling, issue handling and configuration of Conversion and interface operations.
  • Develop Extract Transform Load (ETL), Legacy data conversion, and migration programs.
  • Coordinate with external team to assure the quality of master data and conduct integration testing. Interact with the Quality Assurance team during integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Design and develop cloud-based applications according to Specification and department standards.
  • Create cost effective cloud solutions engaging the department user and are easy to handle in operational processes. Support cloud migration from legacy environment or one cloud to another cloud platform.
  • Design, develop, test, implement and support of customization for PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) application.
  • Provide production support, troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and resolve functionality issues of PeopleSoft FSCM application.
  • Analyze enhancement requests that impact PeopleSoft security and implement changes.
  • Audit user roles and responsibilities and manage secure access to PeopleSoft application.
  • Provide guidance for the project development and enhancement work with estimating efforts and resource planning. Develop, and maintain application support documents in accordance with department standards.
  • Current project expires 10/2/027, though 24-month renewal is expected.
 
Interface Batch Support and PeopleSoft Technical/Functional
Responsibilities:
  • Provide nightly overnight batch support at least 1 week every three or four weeks.
  • Provide proactive support by monitoring live interfaces and collaborating with other teams to provide solutions to problems.
  • Research technical, interface and Integration problems and routinely apply Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Interact with the Quality Assurance team during integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Interface File Layout Support.
  • Interface File Data issue.

  • Off business hours support
  • Troubleshooting and Incident/Outage support.
  • Work with project staff and other FI$Cal teams in support work.
  • Provide knowledge transfer/training to FI$Cal Integration Services Team.
  • Work with Oracle PeopleSoft FSCM, Hyperion and OIM teams.
  • Requirements impact analysis of enhancements to existing interfaces—collaborate with functional and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and/or key users in developing impact analysis, multiple solution ideas, designs, and estimate work efforts
  • Definition, functional design, technical design, security design, development, testing, implementation and support of customizations for PeopleSoft Financials application
  • Translate functional designs into technical solutions and develop technical design documentation
  • Design and develop applications that are adaptive and scalable
  • Assist Integration Services team in various stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)—analyze, document, design, code, test, and troubleshoot custom enhancements to existing code, application patches/fixes/upgrades
  • Facilitate and participate in design and code walkthroughs and other meetings to collaborate with functional technical SMEs and other stakeholders
  • Analyze enhancement requests that impact PeopleSoft security objects and support the design and implementation of customizations for PeopleSoft financials application
  • Support operations and maintenance team to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and resolve application functionality issues and security concerns in various FI$Cal environments
  • Work independently to accomplish tasks in timely manner.
  • Provide documentation as needed.
  • Provide excellent written and oral communication.
  • Work to industry best practices.
 
Mandatory Staffing Qualifications:
1. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
2. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming. At least four (4) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.
3. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience per staff in Interfaces integration with Enterprise Application in any combination of the following areas:
  • Interface Enhancements (File processing to web services)
  • Interface Testing
  • Batch Monitoring and support
  • Customer Interaction
 
4. Minimum of seven (7) years of technical and functional PeopleSoft application development experience in any combination of the following areas:
  • PeopleSoft FSCM Version 9.x
  • PeopleTools 8.5x. (Oracle People Tools and Technology)
  • Application Engine
  • PeopleSoft Query
  • Oracle BI Publisher
  • Structured Query Reporter (SQR)
  • Oracle PeopleSoft nVision
  • Workflow
