Job description
Job Responsibilities Conducts administrative investigations into employment issues and completes other related investigations/legal research as directed. Compiles a detailed report of these investigations for use by the general counsel's office. Maintains accountability and filing of employee grievance and EEOC/SHAC files handled by the general counsel's office.
Must be able to testify under oath as to the findings of these investigations. Will work under the supervision and direction of a deputy general counsel. Individual must be able to work independently with little direction.
Individuals must be able to maintain the confidentiality of investigations at all times. Position requires occasional contact with inmates. Position may require travel to correctional institutions throughout the state as needed.
The majority of work will be conducted in a professional office environment. Little to no overnight travel is required. Resume preferred but not required.

A bachelor's degree may substitute for the required work experience. SCDC Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and at least five (5) years of experience in conducting administrative or criminal investigations
A degree in criminal justice, human resources, or a related field may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.
