We look for employees who are willing to work hard, solve problems and help us grow. Position Summary:The Construction Services Staff Technician's primary function is to perform basic testing and inspection services for various aspects of construction activities. You will be responsible for meeting project schedules and client expectations.Job Responsibilities:Field observation and testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.Communicate with contractors and managers regarding project status and requirements.Complete site visit reports daily.Attend project related meetings with clients, owners, and/or government agencies.Develop and maintain client relationships.Assist with resolution of technical problems onsite.Work closely with Manager to complete projects within schedulesAdhere to company safety polices and use of supplied personal protective equipment.Travel to other Firm's offices, client offices, and project sites.Occasional overnight travel may be required.Perform other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications:High School DiplomaBasic technical writing skillsGreat attitude and a desire to grow professionallyAbility to read construction plans.Ability to become proficient at using firm's field-testing equipment, including nuclear density gauge, concrete testing, soils, and other equipment.Ability to prepare accurate daily field reports and meet required deadlines for completion.Strong organizational ability and verbal communication skillsA flexible working style with an ability to work independently and within a team.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Work requirementsMay require the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and manipulate (carry, lift, move)light to medium weights of 25-50 poundsAbility to walk construction job sites and climb ladders is necessaryRequires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate technical equipment, read technical information and to analyze complex data.Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work- related errands or to attendmeetings may be requiredMay need to be on project sites for extended periods of timeMust have valid license to operate a motor vehicle.Ability to work night shift as needed Why KBJW?KBJW employees receive competitive compensation as well as the following benefits:Comprehensive group medical insurance including health, dental, vision and life.Paid vacation and sick timeShort and long-term disability coverage401K retirementOpportunity for professional growth and advancementTuition reimbursementFlexible work hoursProfit-sharing and bonuses KBJW is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
