Job description

Inova Pediatric Cardiology is looking for a dedicated Lead Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. This role will be full time day shift from Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5:00pm, after 6 months one remote day a month possible.

Job Locations: Willing to travel to all 9 clinic locations, but most frequently will work at our Fairfax Willow Oaks location

Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include:

    • Full Intakes

    • Reconciliation of Medications

    • Patient Education

  • Serves as a clinical expert and a team lead for all clinical staff in the outpatient environment while communicating effectively and working cooperatively with others. 

  • Achieves desired patient outcomes using integrated approach. 

  • Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning and providing direction and guidance to others regarding practice. 

  • Serves as a resource, preceptor and mentor to the outpatient team. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing 

  • Licensure: RN licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

  • Experience: 3 years of registered nurse clinical experience. 

  • Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pediatric RN experience, preferred cardiology/PICU- preferred passionate about peds cardiology 
  • Previous leadership, charge or preceptor experience
