Description
This position will consist of R&D, job shop, repair, and production styles of machining with both CNC and manual methods being used. Seeking a reliable individual with good mechanical aptitude who is willing to learn, work safely, follow instructions, but is also self-motivated to work independently when required. Must be flexible to work on multiple jobs or single long projects.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating CNC and Manual machines with both Mill and Lathe as needed.
- Responsible for keeping CNC lathes machines running after setup unattended as much as possible. This means having CNC lathes run unattended overnight and weekend runs outside of shift as well.
- Trouble shooting tool wear and potential tool wear and issues that could lead to scrapped parts.
- Follow setup sheets and programs as given but be proactive in continuous improvements.
- Prepping bar stock and loading into CNC lathe bar feeders.
- Operating horizonal saw for cutting stock to length when required.
- Setting up CNC machines after specific training if required.
- Gathering / counting of parts from overnight production runs
- Shipping and receiving parts or stock. (By hand or forklift)
- Inventory of parts or stock
- Inventory of tooling when required.
- Cleaning out inside of machines of chips or debris as needed
- Cleaning outside of machines of chips or coolant residue.
- Cleaning out and refilling coolant tanks
- Aid in improving overall lead times by increasing run rates, decreasing scrap, and implementing other systems to reduce waste.
- Logging time accurately spent on jobs either by provided time log sheet or tablet.
- Able to use various types of inspection equipment with specific training if required. (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.)
- Quality control and checking as instructed. Logging results when required.
- Attention to detail on all QC requirements.
- Deburring of parts (Removing sharp edges)
- Part assembly by following verbal or written instruction.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loading and editing programs after specific training.
- Inventory of tooling when required.
- Maintaining coolant concentration levels and mixture ratios.
- "Light" equipment preventative maintenance
- Driving to pick up parts or tooling.
- Delivering finished goods to local customers
- Emptying chip bins via forklift
- All other duties assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The physical demands of the job include, but are not limited to:
o Bending
o Sitting
o Lifting 1 to 60 pounds (with assistance)
o Driving forklift
o Driving company vehicle
o On feet for majority of shift 8+ hours

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write schematics, drawings, and technical references.
PREFERRED:
- Field specific training with documentation.
- Create schematics, drawings, and technical references.
- Experience collaborating with CAD/CAM software.
- Experience working with CNC mills.
- Experience working with CNC lathes with live tooling and multi axis.
- Programing / Design with MasterCam software.
- Knowledge of G&M Codes for quick program edits and troubleshooting at CNC controller.
- Knowledge of: Milling, Turning, CNC control, tooling, feeds and speeds, tolerances, materials, dimensioning, cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, and broaching.
- Experience with Haas Mill and Lathe CNC machines and controllers
- Experience with 4 Axis + CNC operations or programming
- Knowledge of bar feeding and "lights out" style machining preferred.
- Experience in Manual machining both mill and lathe a plus.
- Machinist, Tool & Die or Toolmaker Journeyman's card. (NTMA, community college schooling or other)
- Knowledge of welding. (Certifications or training a plus.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
