POSITION SUMMARY:

The Reliability Specialist plays a key role in building and sustaining a proactive, bestinclass maintenance culture within Aseptic Filling and Secondary Packaging operations. This role partners closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to reduce recurring equipment issues, improve asset reliability, and drive disciplined use of preventive and predictive maintenance best practices.

As the subject matter expert for the aseptic platform, the Reliability Specialist provides technical leadership, coaching, and problemsolving expertise while supporting Nestle Ways of Standard Manufacturing (NWSM) - Maintenance standards. This position exercises independent judgment, provides indirect leadership on a daily basis, and drives continuous improvement across people, processes, and equipment reliability.

SHIFT:

  • 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Schedule flexibility required to support training, TPM/TPMS events, and continuous improvement initiatives

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Equipment Reliability & Cost Performance

  • Own and continuously optimize the Tetra Pak Planned Maintenance System (TPMS) for aseptic filling equipment in collaboration with vendors, engineers, and technical experts.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend PM improvements, parts optimization, and maintenance window efficiency to enhance asset reliability.
  • Coach and train TPMS mechanics to ensure all PM activities consistently meet Nestle and Tetra Pak standards and best practices.
  • Operate autonomously as the Tetra Pak Reliability Specialist, leading reliability routines and NWSM maintenance standards.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Lead and support structured problemsolving efforts to improve equipment efficiency and reduce chronic losses.
  • Act as system owner and coach for maintenance teams using methodologies such as DMAIC, GoSeeThinkDo, Breakdown Analysis, and loss analysis tools.
  • Support improvement initiatives related to Steri Tanks and other critical aseptic assets.

TPMS Planning & Execution

  • Align, coordinate, and ensure flawless execution of all TPMS events for installed factory assets.
  • Ensure parts are properly kitted, staged, and available prior to scheduled events.
  • Drive ontime completion of TPMS activities in strict alignment with MI 22.503 Annex 3 - Maintenance Models for Tetra Pak Carton Aseptic Lines.

Technical Competency & Training

  • Provide handson technical expertise and coaching for aseptic filling and secondary packaging equipment, supporting both maintenance and operations teams.
  • Guide proper utilization and governance of AMM, DMO, and PLMS systems.
  • Support required evaluations during the PreCheck phase of TPMS events.
  • Prepare and deliver clear written performance and reliability communications to Nestle and Tetra Pak leadership.
  • Use tools and realtime coaching to actively build maintenance and TPMS team capability.

Improvement Projects & Change Management

  • Become qualified as a Management of Change (MOC) Project Manager.
  • Lead improvement projects identified by the Line Council (LC), coordinating crossfunctional resources and applying structured problem solving.
  • Partner with Tetra Pak Engineering and onsite Field Engineers to ensure factory upgrades meet defined Tetra Pak standards for the Eau Claire facility.

Standards & Performance Management

  • Support and assess factory maintenance improvement initiatives targeting unplanned and planned downtime reduction.
  • Apply the SDCA (Standardize, Do, Check, Act) methodology to address top operational losses.
  • Serve as an active contributor to Nestle's continuous improvement culture.

Safety & Environmental

  • Follow all factory safety and environmental objectives and plant rules.
  • Promptly report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and Nestle Safety & Environmental Management Systems.
  • Actively reduce environmental impact through energy conservation, waste reduction, and proper recycling practices.

Quality & Food Safety

  • Adhere to all Nestle food safety and quality standards and goals.
  • Follow Nestle Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and report any quality or food safety concerns immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with the Nestle Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Understand and apply food safety and quality requirements outlined in SOPs, OJTs, and QMS documentation.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate Degree + 3-5 years of maintenance experience in aseptic or food manufacturing
    or 7+ years of maintenance experience in aseptic or food manufacturing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 2-3 years of experience working with aseptic fillers and cappers (preferred)
  • Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning, and maintenance execution
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities while considering safety, food safety, and operational constraints
  • Experience with TPM or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 7 KSR + digital tools)
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or technical leadership experience preferred
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred

 

SKILLS:

  • Strong problemsolving skills, including Root Cause Analysis
  • Ability to analyze data and make sound technical recommendations
  • Ownership mindset with proactive cooperation and accountability
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Reliable, motivated, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Detailoriented with accurate documentation practices
  • Strong team player with positive communication and engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to support and strengthen a positive Nestle culture and values
