Position Summary

Responsible for the configuration, validation, and documentation of ophthalmic diagnostic devices and supporting computer systems prior to customer deployment or service use. This role ensures compliance with internal quality standards and supports service operations through technical setup, testing, and asset tracking.

Location: Port St. Lucie, FL (On-Site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure medical devices and associated PCs, including OS setup, software installation, and system integration
  • Install and validate device firmware, drivers, and application software
  • Execute functional testing protocols to verify performance against specifications
  • Document test results, identify non-conformances, and escalate failures for resolution
  • Prepare systems for shipment, including final QA verification and documentation
  • Manage device lifecycle activities (reconditioning, retesting, and redeployment)
  • Maintain accurate ERP transactions (inventory movements, service orders, license tracking)
  • Support tradeshow logistics, including equipment staging, shipment, and post-event processing
  • Coordinate with Service, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams to ensure configuration consistency
  • Maintain organized workstations and adhere to safety and quality procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical environment (device setup, electronics, IT hardware, or quality assurance)
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Windows OS configuration and software installation
    • Hardware/software troubleshooting and validation
    • ERP systems and inventory control processes
  • Strong documentation and data entry accuracy
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical procedures and test protocols
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with medical devices or regulated environments (FDA, ISO)
  • Familiarity with calibration, diagnostics, or electronic testing methods
  • Exposure to hardware integration (peripherals, drivers, connectivity)
Work Environment & Requirements
  • Technical service/warehouse setting with bench testing and device handling
  • Combination of seated and standing work
  • Manual dexterity for small components and tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work in controlled or low-light environments for device testing
  • Occasional travel (5–10%) for training or field support
