Quevera is seeking a talented Test Engineer with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance to support mission-critical programs in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This role offers up to one (1) day of telework per week based on program needs and mission priorities.
As a Test Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and reliability of mission systems through extensive manual software testing activities. Working within an Agile development environment, you'll create and execute test plans, perform test case walkthroughs, validate system functionality, document defects, and collaborate closely with software developers and systems engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has strong attention to detail, and wants to build expertise in software quality assurance, integration testing, and mission-critical system validation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual test plans to validate software functionality and system performance.
- Perform extensive manual software testing throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Develop, execute, and document test cases, test scenarios, and test procedures.
- Participate in test case walkthroughs with developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to validate requirements and expected outcomes.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Identify, document, track, and assist with resolving software defects and anomalies.
- Validate software enhancements, bug fixes, and newly developed features prior to deployment.
- Support system integration testing activities across multiple applications and environments.
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and other technical teams to improve overall system quality.
- Analyze requirements and translate them into detailed testing strategies and test cases.
- Document test results and maintain accurate testing records and supporting documentation.
- Support Linux-based environments and gain exposure to automation and CI/CD processes.
- Adhere to established engineering standards, security requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
Required Skills:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
- Four (4) years of additional work experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Experience performing manual software testing activities.
- Experience creating and executing test plans, test procedures, and test cases.
- Ability to conduct test case walkthroughs and validate software requirements.
- Experience documenting test results, defects, and remediation efforts.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative Agile development environment.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, or user acceptance testing.
- Exposure to Linux or UNIX operating systems.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools.
- Exposure to scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD concepts.
- Experience supporting mission-critical or enterprise environments.
