Job Summary: The overnight maintenance member is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the company's properties to make them attractive and always functional for customers' use. His/her job description entails keeping every part of our company clean, including the restroom, store, and shelves. As a team member of Pete's Fresh Market it is important that Pete's Four Pillars of Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service are always exemplified.
Essential Job Requirements
Schedule important routine maintenance and perform such on equipment and machines used for jobs and document it.
  • Keep all maintenance records properly.
  • Repair and also troubleshoot every defective equipment.
  • Clean and maintain every part of the building and store, including the windows, floors, roofs, and restroom.
  • Remove dirt and trash from the floor and empty trash bins appropriately.
  • Keep all work areas organized and clean.
  • Clean ceiling vents; mop, vacuum, sweep, and dust all dirt prone areas.
  • Engage in special projects and certain heavy cleansing tasks.
  • Handling a number of equipment to get the job done, (e.g. scrubber)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. with 0-3 years of experience in grocery store or similar retail environment.
  • Must have basic math/calculating skills.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively with customers, store leadership, and fellow-team members.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in groups.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands
  • Must have the physical ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, climb, balance, stoop to grasp objects, kneel, crouch, crawl, frequently push/pull up to 100 lbs., frequently lift and/or move loads up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 75 lbs.
  • Occasional high stress when dealing with systems/customers/staff.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule with various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as determined by the store/business needs and as required to ensure adequate store staffing.
  • Must have reliable source of transportation.
