Job description

Linux Systems Admin L2-3 Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a Systems Administrator Level 2 or 3 in support of Linux environments for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction area. A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph from the MD Customer is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations,monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages LINUX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. * Experience with the following: LINUX, containerization, KVM virtualization, Ansible/SALT automation * Great deal of experience with SSP compliance, maintaining STE/STN compliance and support on Linux systems, managing accounts, network rights, access to systems and equipment and implementing security procedures and tools. Configure and install systems hardware or software and maintain server and domain security requirements. * Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. * Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems * Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems * Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems * Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems * Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. * Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers * Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning * Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems * Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets * Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process * Configure and manage LINUX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance * Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware * Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) * Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration Requirements A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph from the MD Customer is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time. Must have: * Experience with LINUX * Experience with storage management * Containerization experience, KVM virtualization * Experience with automation tools is a bonus such as Ansible/SALT. * Scripting experience with Bash,Perl, Python etc. * Experience with FreeIPA. * Application management support and general troubleshooting. * Have a good deal of experience with SSP compliance, maintaining STE/STN compliance and support on Linux systems. Qualifications for System Administrator Level 2: * Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. * Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. * Certifications: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required or ability to obtain within 6 months from start date. Qualifications for System Administrator Level 3: * Fifteen (15) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. * Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. * Certifications: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required or ability to obtain within 6 months from start date.
