Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a Linux Systems Administrator Level 1 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.
A current and active TS/SCI clearance with a MD Polygraph is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time.
Job Description: This is a full-time position and work is performed at a customer location. As a Linux Systems Administrator you will provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Providee Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process. Configure and manage Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
The Level 1 System Administrator (SA) shall possess the following capabilities:
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning

Requirements
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) years' experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher is required.
  • System Administration experience with CentOS 7, Rocky 9, and RHEL 9
  • Experience upgrading servers, workstations, laptops
  • Experience with the Customer Secure the Enterprise (STE) tasks
  • Experience with the Customer data transfer process
  • Hardware installation experience (servers/workstations)
  • Linux experience is required

  • Task Automation

  • PXE boot
  • Building VMs using Proxmox
  • Identity Manager (IDM) experience
  • Integration of IDM with a CentOS LDAP server
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator

  • Linux networking experience
