Essential Functions
- Work collaboratively with the Middle School theatre teacher to determine areas of leadership and support for the program.
- Act as the Director for Upper School Musical, Upper School One Act, All School Musical, and Artist's Garden.
- Attend all after school rehearsals that adhere to above classes/musicals.
- Help with technical needs in the Theater Department.
- Teach classes to be determined by administration.
- Participate in the preparation and management of Theatre Department budgets.
- Work with the Facility Team on scheduling, maintenance, and daily use of Theatre Facilities.
- Submit check requests in a timely manner and follow LCS credit card policy.
- Monitor student eligibility.
- Plan, organize, and supervise all local, state, and special events for MS Theatre.
- Attend Middle and Upper School theatre performances.
- Participate in various levels of Professional Development.
- Coordinate any TAPPS /PSIA MS Theatre competitions/Texas Thespian Festival.
- Perform any additional responsibilities identified by the administration.
- Adhere to the Student Protection Policy (SPP) procedures and trainings.
- Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the school.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree in one area of the Fine Arts required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate instruction in all areas of theatre.
- Teacher Certification via Association of Christian Schools International to be completed within the first year or state certification (any valid state teaching certificate)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google.
- Serve as a Christian role model.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to function well in an environment with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
- Regularly use close and distance vision.
- May stand for extended periods of time.
- Works primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to work occasional overnight and multi-night performances and school events.
- Ability to lift to 30lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written).
- Ability to instruct and model desirable skills and attitude.
- Ability to remain productive and maintain control under stress.
- Ability to maintain a clear focus on a positive student experience.
- Flexible with either full-time or part-time status.
