Job description

Job Purpose:
- The Overnight Clerk at Hugo’s Family Marketplace is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective stocking and preparation of the sales floor during overnight hours. This role is crucial in maintaining the store’s inventory, cleanliness, and readiness for daily operations, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload shipments promptly and accurately.
- Stock shelves with products, ensuring proper rotation and labeling.
- Maintain clean and safe aisles, adhering to safety procedures.
- Check for and manage damaged goods appropriately.
- Prepare the sales floor for opening, ensuring all areas are organized and presentable.
- Assist with inventory management and processes.
- Operate pallet jacks and other stocking equipment safely.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient overnight operations.
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality for overnight shifts.

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to understand safety guidelines and store procedures
Required Experience:
- 6 months to 1 year of retail, warehouse, or stocking experience
- Experience unloading shipments and stocking shelves
- Familiarity with inventory processes
- Ability to operate pallet jacks or stocking equipment safely
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift 40–50 lbs
- Attention to detail for accurate stocking and rotation
- Basic math and reading skills
- Time management and efficiency
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Reliability for overnight shifts
