What insurance should I get as a photographer?

As an overnight insurance photographer, you should consider obtaining professional liability insurance to protect against claims of negligence or errors, and equipment insurance to cover cameras and gear against theft or damage. Additionally, general liability insurance can protect you from third-party injuries or property damage during shoots. Having appropriate coverage ensures financial protection while working independently or on location.

Common Search & ComparisonYesNo

The Overnight Insurance Photographer primarily focuses on capturing images related to insurance documentation or promotional content, often working overnight shifts. In contrast, an Insurance Underwriter evaluates insurance applications and assesses risk. While both roles are within the insurance industry, they require different skill sets and credentials. The comparison highlights the distinct nature of these jobs despite some overlapping industry usage.

How much should a photographer charge for 1 hour?

For an overnight insurance photographer, hourly rates typically range from $50 to $150 depending on experience, location, and project complexity. Photographers often set rates based on their skill level, equipment, and the specific requirements of insurance documentation, with some charging additional fees for travel or specialized setups.

Is $100 an hour good for a photographer?

For an overnight insurance photographer, earning $100 an hour is generally considered a competitive rate, especially given the specialized nature of the work, which may require night shifts, attention to detail, and familiarity with insurance photography standards. Rates can vary based on experience, location, and the complexity of assignments, but $100 per hour is above average for many freelance or specialized photography roles.

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.

A Typical School Picture Day

Your day begins early at either our Stanwood or Kent location, where the team loads photography equipment into company vehicles before traveling to a school.

Once on site, everyone works together to set up backgrounds, lighting, and camera equipment. Equipment checks are completed before students begin arriving.

Throughout the school day, students and staff visit the photography stations. We work efficiently while creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that helps every student feel comfortable and look their best.

At the end of the day, the team packs the equipment, thanks the school volunteers and staff for their support, returns to the hub, unloads equipment, and prepares for the next day's assignment.
