Description
In this role, the Business Development Professional, in the Charlotte office will support the advancing the firm's growth strategy by strengthening the sales process, supporting partner-led pursuits, cultivating a proactive business development culture across the office. The person in this role works closely with Charlotte partners to identify opportunities, coordinate prospecting efforts, and drive targeted outreach aligned with the office and firm's strategic priorities. This is an in-office position which requires light travel to local networking events.
  • Support and coordinate the Charlotte office sales process by supporting partners, principals, and associates in identifying, pursuing, and closing opportunities.
  • Assist and establish consistent practices with referral sources, COIs and web lead prospects that encourage a strong business mindset across the office.
  • Assist partners in preparing for prospecting meetings, identifying new opportunities and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure pursuit teams are organized and that opportunities move efficiently through the firm's sales process.
  • Coordinate and participate in collaboration with Charlotte partners.
  • Participate in COI meetings, prospect meetings, lead calls when appropriate (in-person, phone or Teams) and ensure proper partner coverage and pursuit team alignment for each opportunity.
  • Plan, schedule and publish social media posts across LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and Google My Business, ensuring timely and consistent content.
  • Curate and share culture-focused content on Facebook to highlight company values and employee engagement.
  • Monitor mentions of the company and employee-generated content to actively engage with the community.
  • Maintain an organized posting calendar, including events ad reminders for upcoming content.
  • Share post links with leadership for weekly recognition initiatives.
  • Update and maintain social media profiles to reflect major company changes and announcements

Requirements
  • Strong track record of building relationships and business development, preferably in a professional services environment
  • A professional network in the public accounting industry, including contacts with prospective clients and referral sources is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, including facilitating and presenting)
  • Able to work effectively with and build relationships with firm leaders and different levels of management
  • Demonstrated skill in all facets of business development process as part of a pursuit team (prospect, nurture, follow-up, follow-through, negotiating and closing)
  • Proven ability to collaborate with highly credentialed professionals to nurture relationships and close sales (a team builder and leader)
  • Professional, polished appearance, relationship-driven and personal demeanor
  • Experience with social media posting in a business environment
  • Strategic, understanding professional services or accounting-related environments
    • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of business development experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license good MVR (motor vehicle record)
  • Ability to travel as required, including daytime and nighttime driving
  • Position may require occasional overnight stays
