Golf Course Groundskeeper (Full-Time)

Hourly Rate:  $18.00 /per hour to $24.00/per hour, depending on experience.

SUMMARY: To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of golf course grounds. Must be able to work as a team member to ensure the greens are kept in excellent condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Precision mow greens, tees, aprons, fairways, around trees, and other turf areas.
  •  Operate equipment, power tools, and hand tools in maintaining golf course.
  •  Verti-cut, aerate, and top-dress tees, greens, fairways, and other turf areas.
  •  Lay sod as required.
  •  Fertilize and spray tees, greens, fairways, and other turf areas with pesticides.
  •  Water golf course grounds per prescribed methods.
  •  Change cups and maintain flags and poles.
  •  Operate and maintain poser equipment used on the golf courses.
  •  Operate power equipment used on golf courses.
  •  Drive light and heavy vehicles.
  •  Maintain irrigation systems on golf courses.
  •  Knowledge of methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in golf course maintenance
  •  Ability to work as a team member to accomplish daily required duties and aide the new or less experienced worker.
  •  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
  •  Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  •  Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of the Paradise Valley Country Club.
  •  Performs other duties as assigned by Golf Maintenance Managemen


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  •  Must be able to exert physical strength by lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.
  •  Must be able to lift heavy supplies/equipment.
  •  Ability to work in various climates and temperatures.
  •  Ability to work as a team member and follow directions from a supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent. This is an entry-level position in which on-the-job training will be taught.
