Senior Logistics Coordinator
Location:Americas
The first company of the deugro group, deugro was founded in 1924 in Frankfurtam Main, Germany, by Carl E. Press, Sr. and is today a leading freightforwarder in the field of turnkey projects, heavy lift and special transportson both a national and an international level. The deugro group specializes inseveral independently operating service areas to ensure the successful handlingof the operative business for the deugro group. All supporting functions suchas Controlling, Finance, Human Resources, Business Processes and IT,Consolidation, Marketing, and QHSES are consolidated in one entity.
The Senior Project Coordinator will have the responsibility to arrange transportation of goods for various project assignments. Responsible for the successful, proactive daily operation of export and import, sea and heavy haul freight forwarding activities. Any rail and barge knowledge is considered a plus.
Become a part of our international Operations team at one of ourlocations inAmericas. For the next possible date we are lookingfor you i fulltime (40h/week) as Senior Logistics Coordinator.
Key responsibilities:
  • Conducts freight negotiations with carriers, haulers, freight handlers, deugro overseas offices and agents for all modes of transportation, to ensure price competitiveness and profitability
  • Responsible for overseas communications that includes anticipation of needs in overnight correspondence.
  • Approve and post vendor invoices and bill customers after shipment is complete
  • Prepares invoices and shipping documents such as, but not limited to export Bill of Lading (MBL, HBL), commercial invoices, certificate of origin
  • Interacting with customers, vendors and foreign agents
    Responding in a timely manner to customer request on shipment status
  • Completes cargo assessment to determine the best possible method route to implement in cargo movement
  • Manage suppliers, sub-contractors and third party cargo handlers
    Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.

Skills, knowledge, and expertise:
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of Freight Forwarding experience preferred
    Excellent communication skills - Verbal & Written
  • Computer skills - MS Windows 7+, MS Office
    Positive attitude
  • Multitasking Skills - Able to handle various assignments
    Focus - Pay attention to the customer's needs and commit to exceeding them
  • Problem solving ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and adjust
  • Creative thinking and open to new ideas
