Job description

Job Overview:
As a key member of our logistics department, the Biller will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our freight forwarding operations. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of freight documentation, invoicing procedures, and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Billing and Invoicing: Generate and verify accurate invoices for freight shipments in accordance with established billing procedures. Ensure completeness and correctness of billing documentation, including freight manifests, shipping orders, and relevant customs paperwork.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary information for billing purposes.
  • Rate Calculation: Calculate shipping rates based on factors such as weight, volume, and destination, ensuring adherence to company pricing policies. Verify and cross-reference rates with contractual agreements and customer-specific pricing structures.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all billing-related documents. Archive and file documentation for future reference and audit purposes.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers regarding billing inquiries, discrepancies, and resolution of issues. Provide detailed and accurate information to clients regarding freight charges, taxes, and other related queries.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements related to freight billing. Ensure all billing practices adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including operations and finance, to streamline billing processes and address any discrepancies.
  • Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes promptly and professionally. Implement corrective measures to prevent recurring issues.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in freight forwarding billing or a similar role within the logistics industry.
  • Familiarity with freight documentation, international shipping procedures, and customs regulations.
  • Proficient in using billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific billing and invoicing practices is highly desirable.
