Operating Room Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the operating room environment and possess the necessary skills to provide high-quality patient care throughout various surgical procedures.

Shift Details

  • Monday - Friday, 4x10s with a start time of 6:30 AM
  • Rotating day off
  • Total of 40 hours per week
  • Holiday rotation required
  • Call schedule includes one overnight per week and three weekends per 13-week contract
Unit Information
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:1
  • Average caseload: 35-50 cases per day
  • Turnover time expectation: less than 20 minutes
  • Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation
  • Service lines include: Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopedic (primarily trauma), Robotics, Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Transplants
  • Scrubbing and circulating experience is preferred
Qualifications
  • 24 months of current Operating Room experience is required
  • Experience in circulating and operating room settings is mandatory
  • Scrubbing experience is highly preferred
  • Required experience includes: General surgery, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma
  • Additional experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular is highly preferred
  • Must have experience with EPIC electronic medical records system within the last 3 years
  • Trauma Level I experience is preferred, and Level II experience is required
  • No first-time travelers; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the last 15 months
  • Required to have scrubbing experience in Orthopedics
Licensure and Certifications
  • Active Iowa license or compact/multistate nursing license is required at the time of submission
  • BLS certification from AHA is required
