Job description

Join our US Consumables Finance team as a Financial Analyst II in one of Amazon's fastest-growing product families covering Grocery, Health & Personal Care, Beauty, Baby, and Pets. In this role, you'll own profit and loss (P&L) reporting and variance analysis for one or more US Consumables sub-categories, translating financial data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. You'll partner cross-functionally with Category, Pricing, and Vendor Management teams to understand business drivers and support leadership through various business review cycles.
This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-growth environment where your financial expertise will directly influence business strategy

You'll conduct deep-dive analyses on promotional effectiveness and vendor investment ROI while maintaining strong controllership over general ledger accuracy and budget reconciliation. If you're passionate about business partnership, have a talent for detailed analysis, and want to help shape the direction of one of Amazon's most dynamic businesses, this role offers exceptional growth and development potential.
Key job responsibilities
- Own P&L reporting and variance analysis for one or more US Consumables sub-categories, ensuring reporting accuracy and regularly auditing work to maintain the highest standards
- Partner cross-functionally with Category, Pricing, and Vendor Management teams to understand business drivers and provide strategic financial guidance
- Support business review cycles (WBR/MBR/QBR) with comprehensive narratives, bridge analyses, and actionable insights that influence data-driven decision making
- Build and maintain forecasts during monthly guidance and operational planning cycles, converting data findings into recommendations that impact business performance
- Conduct ad-hoc deep-dive analyses on topics such as promotional effectiveness and vendor investment ROI to identify opportunities for business improvement
A day in the life
Your day starts with reviewing overnight financial performance metrics for your assigned Consumables sub-categories, identifying any significant variances that require immediate attention. You'll spend time analyzing these variances against operating plans and translating them into actionable insights for your business partners

Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with Category Managers to understand underlying business drivers, participate in planning meetings with cross-functional teams, and work on forecasting models for upcoming business reviews. You might also tackle an ad-hoc analysis on promotional ROI or vendor investment effectiveness, ensuring your findings provide clear recommendations that help the business make informed decisions.
About the team
The US Consumables Finance team is part of Worldwide Amazon Stores Finance, sitting within the North America Stores finance organization. We provide financial support for Amazon's US Consumables business - one of the fastest-growing product families.
Our team serves as the strategic finance partner to Consumables business leaders

We own P&L management across multiple categories, lead forecasting and planning processes, deliver business insights, and foster cross-functional partnerships with Category, Pricing, Vendor Management, Returns, Advertising, and Corporate FP&A teams. We pride ourselves on delivering financial insights that directly influence the strategic direction of this rapidly growing business.
