We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Donor Engagement Advisor to support our fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and grant management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nonprofit work, skilled in relationship-building, and experienced in grant writing. This position will work closely with the Development Director, President & CEO, and key stakeholders to enhance donor engagement and increase funding opportunities.
What You'll Do:
Relationship Building & Community Engagement
Serve as the primary donor relationship manager for a portfolio of foundations and mid-tier donors.
Cultivate and steward donor relationships through phone calls, in-person and virtual meetings, events, and targeted outreach.
Track key engagements with donors, ensuring personal and meaningful outreach.
Represent Habitat at community events to promote engagement, volunteerism, and financial support.
Foundation Relations and Grant Writing
Foster relationships and maintain open communication with foundation contacts, both current and prospective, including ongoing direct dialogue related to impact reporting and dissemination.
Oversee, coordinate, and implement the grant-writing process including the writing, reporting, and submission of proposals, ensuring clear timelines and compliance.
Develop and implement a comprehensive internal reporting/tracking system via the CRM system to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding priorities while maintaining organized records of existing and new grantors.
Research and identify new grant funding opportunities for Habitat's programs.
Event Coordination & Fundraising
Plan and execute fundraising and donor stewardship events
Manage the stewardship and cultivation strategy of events to further donor and prospective donor engagement.
Data Management
Verify donor information in the CRM system (Bloomerang or similar), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Generate reports on donor trends, giving patterns, and fundraising performance to guide strategy.
Minimal travel required (less than 10%)

What You'll Need:
Education: Associate's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; Bachelor's or Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: 4-6 years in donor relations, fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development, or a related field
Valid driver's license
Tech Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and proficiency with donor management/ database software.
Flexible Availability: Some weekend and evening events, or travel and overnight stay associated with Habitat events, trainings or seminars may be required for the role.

Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to manage fundraising events from start to finish with minimal oversight.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sensitivity.
