Job description

Wheels is a last-mile, shared electric vehicle platform changing the current landscape in last-mile mobility. We are a low-cost, energy-efficient way to get from point A to point B... and then some. We're looking for people that are excited to join a fast-paced start-up that offers the opportunity to grow in your career.
You'll work autonomously by driving our vans, loading and dropping off bikes, and changing batteries. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the health of our fleet and in bringing safe, reliable rides to users every day. Internally, we call this role a Recovery Specialist.
This is a full-time role hired directly with Wheels that will be based out of our San Diego warehouse. Apply today and one of our recruiters will give you a call!
We operate 24/7 and are currently hiring for our AM and overnight shift. Weekend availability is a must.
We hope you're ready for the ride of your life.
What You'll Do:
  • Inspect bikes across your service area to identify bikes in need of maintenance and repair
  • After training, use our mobile applications to capture operational data, track fleet activity, and log field repair information
  • Swap batteries on our bikes to ensure our users can always rely on us for a ride
  • Work alongside the city operations team to collect and reposition bikes
  • Operate electric bikes to service our fleet of bikes in the community
  • Reposition improperly parked bikes to recommended hubs and parking areas
  • Diagnose and triage bikes in your service area and perform light field repairs- including swapping batteries
  • When you're in the community, interact and engage with members of the community with the utmost respect and professionalism regardless of perceived socioeconomic status, race, and/or gender
  • Drive company vans to perform daily tasks

What You'll Need:
  • Proficiency using mobile technology
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets our requirements for insurability.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to self-manage and also work well in a team environment
  • Experience driving a cargo van or other large vehicle for work purposes
  • For this role, the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance is a must. We are a fast-paced startup and we are all dependent on one another to be reliable team members
  • Physical Requirements and Special Demands:
    • Must be comfortable driving, stopping, and working in busy outdoor urban environments
    • Required standing or sitting for several hours straight at a time
    • Frequently bend and twist throughout the day
    • Regularly lift over 40 lb

What We Offer:

    • Medical (Kaiser or Anthem Blue Cross), Dental + Vision (Guardian)
