Job description

Are you an experienced CNA or night-shift caregiver with a heart for hospice care?

At Assisting Hands Home Care, we are seeking a dependable, compassionate night-shift specialist to provide dedicated 1-on-1 end-of-life care for a hospice client during weekend overnight hours. We need a vigilant, gentle caregiver to ensure client safety, comfort, and peace of mind throughout the night.
Shift Details & Exact Schedule

We are looking for coverage across the following weekend night schedule (25 hours/week total):
  • Friday Night: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (8 hours)

  • Saturday Night: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (8 hours)

  • Sunday Night: 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM (9 hours – stays until morning care staff arrives)

  • Pay: $15.00 – $17.00/hour (Based on experience & CNA status)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Remaining 100% awake, alert, and responsive throughout all overnight shifts.
  • Providing gentle repositioning, turning, and personal hygiene/incontinence care to maintain skin integrity and comfort.
  • Observing changes in comfort, breathing, or distress and communicating effectively with the hospice team.
  • Assisting with the Monday morning handoff to daytime staff at 8:00 AM.
Requirements

  • Experience Required: Minimum 1+ years of caregiving with direct hospice, end-of-life, or overnight care experience. CNA certification strongly preferred.
  • Vigilance & Reliability: Proven ability to stay alert through the night and ironclad weekend attendance.
  • General Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, hold a High School Diploma/GED, have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation, and pass a background check.
