Four 10-hr overnight shifts weekly, 10pm-8am



Summary Job Description:

The Overnight Residential Counselor provides supportive services directly to participants of WestBridge's residential program. The program provides treatment to individuals who experience severe mental illness and substance use disorders in order to maximize their recovery. Counselors work to ensure consumer-directed goal setting, assist the individual served to gain hope and sense of empowerment and provide assistance in helping the individuals served become respected and valued members of their family and community. As a member of the Residential Team, the Overnight Residential Counselor is expected to be able to effectively represent and communicate the WestBridge culture of being authentic, team-oriented, and participant-centered.


Primary Duties:

  • This position requires that the Overnight Residential Counselor be awake throughout the night.
  • Customer Service Skills: General friendliness, a solution-focus attitude, being responsive and flexible.
  • Complete housekeeping duties.
  • Ensure confidentiality of medical records, clinical information and participants is in compliance with federal confidentiality laws.
  • Monitor adult males in a residential treatment setting
  • Ensure participants remain in bedroom and quiet throughout the night hours
  • Provide support to residents in maintaining proper health routines such as nutrition, sleep, and medication regimens.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of mental status and consults with WestBridge staff.
  • File medical and clinical documentation in participant charts? Assess residents for changes in symptoms associated with mental health diagnosis and substance use disorders.
  • Provide the Participant access to their medications and monitor the Participants' self administration of medications.
  • At end of shift, support participants in final wake up and morning routines.
  • Communicate with treatment team after each shift and attend regular supervision with WestBridge Staff.
  • Documents services provided in an appropriate manner using company-approved forms and systems
  • Monitor building and grounds for any safety concerns

Requirements

  • Knowledge obtained through completion of an Associate's degree curriculum in appropriate discipline for accredited institution, or equivalent combination of educations and experience.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal rules and regulations governing confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Local, State and Federal program administration regulations.
  • Skill in working and communicating with others.
  • Demonstrates a high standard of professional conduct and ethical behavior that will enhance the quality of care and encourage positive interactions among staff.
  • Valid drivers' license and appropriate vehicle insurance coverage of 100,000 bodily injury per person/300,00 bodily injury per accident/100,000 property damage.
  • Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office products, internet access
