Automation Technician

Starting $32.00- $42.00 per Hour

1st Shift (7am-4pm)

Hoffer Plastics is hiring for "Automation Technician" Programs, repairs and maintains all automated machinery and auxiliary equipment

Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of:
    • All automated devices used for the purpose of runner removal, part handling, separation or packing.
    • All machinery located at the press or in the Assembly department used in secondary operations
    • All auxiliary equipment
  • Diagnose trouble, disassemble, and determine extent of repairs necessary.
  • Make up repair parts, replace defective components.
  • Perform necessary welding and sheet metal operations involved in repairing equipment.
  • Operate lathe, vertical mill, drill press and grinders as required.
  • Occasionally direct an assigned helper.
  • Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner
  • Observe safety rules and wearing of prescribed protective clothing or items.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 year technical degree in related field
  • 5 years of experience in related discipline required.
  • Mechanical comprehension as well as strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications and blueprints
  • Programming knowledge of PLC systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.
  • Robotic experience as well as vision detection systems
  • Use of Computer Aided Design Software and strong general computer skills
