Job description

Description:

AmanaCare is seeking a dependable, compassionate overnight caregiver to provide non-medical care for three religious sisters residing together in a Catholic convent in Waverly. This is an overnight role, with one caregiver caring for three sisters in a peaceful, structured, and faith-filled setting.

The overnight caregiver will follow a clear routine that includes light evening care, attentive overnight monitoring, and morning assistance to help the sisters begin their day safely and comfortably. This position requires attentiveness and the ability to work independently while caring for multiple persons overnight.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Provide overnight care for three sisters in a shared residence.
  • Assist with evening routines (bedtime prep, hygiene, medication preparation).
  • Remain attentive overnight and respond to pager alerts for bathroom assistance.
  • Monitor hallway activity and ensure safety throughout the night.
  • Provide early-morning wake up assistance and help with hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
  • Assist one sister with wheelchair transport to chapel.

Who This Role is Great For:

  • Experienced caregivers comfortable with 1:3 care.
  • Caregivers who prefer structured, predictable routines.
  • Individuals who value a quiet, respectful, faith-based environment.
  • Overnight workers looking for premium incentive pay.

Pay and Benefit Highlights:

  • Incentive pay: up to $30/hour. Our base wage is $17-$21/hour which is $3.00 above the eastern Nebraska average and 20% higher than the national average. Any overnight hours worked for the sisters, however, qualify for an incentive pay of $30/hour.
  • Paid health insurance. We cover all caregivers working 25 hours a week or more with individual indemnity health insurance. We can also offer partial payment for additional health insurance coverages, and for plans for spouses, children, and family.
  • Consistent hours. The hours we need filled at the convent are 9:00pm-6:00am.
  • Weekly paychecks, directly deposited every Friday.
  • Paid on-the-job training. All initial training and shadowing is paid. No medical certification or prior experience is required: we coach you through the specifics of caring for each client individually.
  • Employee referral bonus. Refer a qualified candidate and, as a "thank you," we'll offer you a $150 referral bonus once the employee has been with us for 6 months--and another $150 when he or she has worked with us for a year.
  • Emphasis on encouragement and communication. Our schedulers and coordinators want to know who you are, so they can support you in your needs and celebrate you in your accomplishments. In addition to normal day-to-day assistance, they hold monthly one-on-one meetings with all of their caregivers, to learn about them and to delve deeper into what they would like from their stay at AmanaCare.

This job is:

  • A competitively paying job for those with experience in in-home or residential health care, or who have worked as a CNA, Med Aide, case worker, paraprofessional, or direct support professional.
  • A good fit for someone entering the workforce, or someone who has been out of the workforce for the past 6 or more months.
  • Ideal for college students, those with children, and older job seekers and retirees.

Qualifications:

  • Caregiving experience preferred (home care, CNA, or similar).
  • Comfortable with mobility assistance and wheelchair transport.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and respectful.
  • Comfortable working in a Catholic religious environment.
