Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Instrument Operator to join Control Point Associates on a long-term project with a government agency supporting NY and NJ reporting to Newark, NJ daily.Competitive pay, excellent benefits, an amazing team and endless opportunities for growth are just a few reasons why you should apply today!! Regular Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Overnight Hours: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am (Time & a half)
  • Overnight hours are on an as needed basis; your regular shift will be days 6 am to 2:30 pm.

Must pass a drug test.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform all phases of surveying field work including Boundary & Topographical Surveys, Construction Layout, As-Built surveys while utilizing Leica or Trimble Total Stations with Data Collectors
  • Complete field calculations and sketches and downloading and compiling the data
  • Maintain and take great care of all survey field equipment
  • Always maintain quality control
  • Ability to work *overnight projects when necessary (10 pm to 6:30 am). Longer stretches of night shifts may be required. Regular hours are 6 am to 2:30 pm.
    • All hours worked on overnight shift are paid at time and a half
  • Get OSHA 10/40 Certification; TWIC and SWAC - this is a requirement for the government agency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Flexible availability to accommodate overnight projects
  • Above average math skills and you should know your way around a computer
  • 3 years' experience performing boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, construction stakeout, experienced using robotic total stations, Leica Scanners
  • Willing to travel, work in all weather conditions
  • A can-do attitude and desire to work overtime

We're Even More Excited if You Have:
  • Associate's degree or higher
  • OSHA 10 or 40 Certified
  • TWIC or SWAC Certified
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Operation of Leica P40 Scan Station preferred

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for 8+ hours a day. Exposure to all weather conditions: hot, cold, wet, humid, or other conditions caused by weather. The Instrument Operator will work in the field with the survey crew. Field work is often performed on busy streets or construction sites. Loud noise may be experienced at times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
