Job description

Hotel Night Auditor

Are you a dependable night owl who enjoys providing exceptional guest service? Join our hospitality team as a Night Auditor and play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and seamless guest experience during overnight hours. This position combines front desk responsibilities with nightly accounting and audit functions while serving as the hotel's primary point of contact overnight.

Compensation

  • $15+ per hour depending on experience

Schedule

  • Part-time position
  • 2-3 days per week
  • 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Front Desk Operations

  • Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Check guests in and out efficiently and accurately.
  • Assign guest rooms and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
  • Assist with reservation management, room blocking, and pre-registration activities.
  • Resolve guest concerns and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area.
  • Stay informed about hotel services, amenities, promotions, and brand standards.

Night Audit & Accounting Duties

  • Audit guest accounts to ensure room rates, market codes, and postings are accurate.
  • Review group accounts to verify charges align with contracted agreements.
  • Post room charges, taxes, and other applicable fees to guest accounts.
  • Complete nightly accounting processes and required audit reports.
  • Run and distribute computer-generated reports and accounting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all cash handling, credit card, and payment processing procedures.

Safety & Hotel Operations

  • Serve as Manager on Duty during overnight hours.
  • Execute and support hotel emergency procedures and loss prevention policies.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests, incidents, and overnight operational needs.
  • Complete all required nightly checklists and operational tasks.
  • Support a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency; hotel property management system experience is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism when handling guest concerns.
  • Previous hotel, front desk, customer service, or Night Auditor experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull as needed.
  • Occasional exposure to cleaning products and chemicals.
  • Ability to perform overnight shift duties consistently and reliably.
