Urology Physician (Locum Tenens, Per Diem) - Marquette, MI Level 2 Trauma Center

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,150 - $7,280
  • Location: Marquette, MI 49855 - Urology jobs in Marquette, Michigan; excellent work-life balance with lakeside access and outdoor recreation in the Upper Peninsula (UP)
  • Facility: Level 2 Trauma Center (hospital-based urology, inpatient and emergency consults)
  • Shift: 24-hour call coverage (7a-7a)
  • Assignment Dates: Orientation starts June 10, 2026; ongoing locum tenens per diem opportunities available
  • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days
Job Requirements / Qualifications
  • Board Certification in Urology (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in general urology or equivalent hospital practice
  • Proficiency in adult general urology and ureteroscopy; experience with laparoscopy and nephrectomy preferred
  • Ability to respond onsite within 20 minutes during on-call shifts
  • Strong documentation skills; must provide detailed notes for call-back hours (audit-ready)
  • Current medical license eligible for practice in Michigan (or willing to obtain)
Responsibilities
  • Provide 24-hour urology call coverage for the hospital, including emergency consults and inpatient management
  • Round on and discharge inpatients; manage postoperative care and inpatient consultations
  • Respond to an expected 2-4 calls per night with typically 1-2 onsite call-ins
  • Perform and manage common hospital urology procedures: kidney stones, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), stent management, hematuria evaluation, and difficult catheter placements
  • Evaluate transfer requests and provide timely consult recommendations for the trauma and ED teams
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation of call-back hours and clinical encounters
  • Participate in ongoing locum tenens per diem assignments as needed to support the urology team
