Job description

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION
Primary Duties
1. Prepares rate related filings in jurisdictions to be used in advocating the company's position on accounting, ratemaking, gas cost, cost allocation issues and other regulatory issues and to comply with orders from regulatory authorities and current tariffs.
2. Prepares and reviews analytical exhibits in developing rate filings and testimony submitted by company witnesses.
3. Prepares and reviews analytical exhibits as support in response to intervener data requests.
4. Coordinates and organizes the information flow between internal departments to provide timely responses to requests from rate case interveners.
5. Develops financial and statistical models to improve departmental efficiency and accuracy in rate filings.
6. Reviews and analyzes billing information to determine its accuracy and usefulness in a regulatory proceeding.
7. Prepares and files compliance reports as required by the various regulatory bodies.
8. Monitors rates charged by other jurisdictions to provide a basis for comparison.
9. Analyzes and evaluates financial and billing data. Calculates pro forma adjustments to deficiency studies for rate case purposes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level
Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and two years related experience; or equivalent
Communication Skills
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and /or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals.
Numeric Skills
Requires the ability to perform algebraic, operations and/or moderately complex statistical methods and/or applies high level accounting methods for financial reporting.
Computer Skills
Requires an advanced knowledge of various software applications for creating complex documents, databases, reports and graphics.
Work Conditions
Works in an office environment
Minimal overnight travel may be required.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
